I've been playing mandolin seriously for about 4 years. I started out playing in high school in Saline, Michigan.

My major influences are Bill Monroe, Herschel Sizemore, Adam Steffey, Sam Bush, Ronnie McCoury, Doyle Lawson, Shawn Lane, Roland White, and Dan Tyminski.

My favorite artists are: The Bluegrass Album Band, Del McCoury, Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, Ralph Stanley, Jimmy Martin, IIIrd Tyme Out, Lonesome River Band, Blue Highway, Ricky Skaggs, Doyle Lawson, and Alison Krauss.

When I'm not doing homework (I'm a Biochemistry major at the University of Michigan) or jamming with the guys from LC, I'm usually either listening to bluegrass or playing mandolin. I also like hanging out with my friends from high school and watching movies.

I play a 2004 Breedlove Mandolin, a KF Quartz model. I want to stretch the limits of my own playing and musical knowledge. Playing Lonesome County has really helped me do this!
