I endorse the Fults Tailpiece. I feel they're the best tailpiece on the market today. Designed and manufactured by Bob Fults they take one of the most important pieces on a banjo into the 21st century. He makes several models that can be viewed on his web site, Banjotailpiece.com. I currently use the 1934 model. It's based on the traditional Presto tailpiece but goes way beyond it.

The Fults system divides the tailpiece into two components. The starting point is the mount which is a finely engineered system that bolts to the bottom 2 brackets and is COMPLETELY rigid. It has a screw mechanism to adjust the tailpiece angle without effecting the connection of the tailpiece with the banjo. Very small adjustment can produce noticeably changes in tone and once you find the right tone for you IT AIN'T GOIN' NOWHERE!

Each of the tailpiece designs can be attached to the same mount. Bob has experimented at great length in ways to re-enforce and tune the acoustic properties of his tailpieces. I love the 1934 because it gives the same type of tone of the best Presto's but also boosts volume, clarity, and volume. I think of it as a Presto on steroids!
