I first discovered Larrivee guitars about ten years ago when I walked into a guitar store to trade my HD-28 for a new guitar. My choice was a Larrivee D-03. This was my first one and then I’ve had the opportunity to own many of their models.

Many guitar players need the same thing I do: power not only for rhythm but also for solos. Also, the notes need to be clear along with this balance of power.

I’ve had over 50 guitars in my search for the ONE and I’m so thankful I’ve finally found it! It’s a D-50 model given to me by Larrivee guitars. For the specifics on this model, please visit their web site, Larrivee.com.

Among my heroes are Dan Crary, Tony Rice and Doc Watson. I love their depth of tone. This has much to do with the way they play, but it's also due to their guitars. Tony’s guitar has a very distinct bass tone but sometimes you can hear small overtones that can detract from the tone of individual notes. The same can be said for most guitars since none is perfect. But it is possible, like Tony Rice, to find the closest thing. To me it isn’t a Martin, or a Collings, it’s a Larrivee!
